Is Sleep important to creating a slimmer body

Sleep contributes to your mood, stress levels, memory, eating habits, muscle recovery & immune system, can you see why its so important?

So how can it be related to you losing weight?

Whilst your body sleeps it creates growth hormones (GH), GH stimulates your fat cells & fat cells are used as energy. With the 8-7 hour fast you unconsciously participate in every night that also creates GH - your actually burning two times more fat!

So I here you ask - I sleep every night, why am I not losing weight!?

Well, are you sleeping enough? - I recommend 8 hours sleep a night, a good nights sleep will leave you feeling more alert & energised, a lack of sleep results in the need for sugary snacks like chocolate, energy drinks, etc during the day to maintain energy and sugar levels. So a sleep can help with your diet.

Do you watch TV before bed? - Having a TV on or your phone in the room sends out the wrong signals to the body about your 'room of relaxation'. you'll end up staying up to watch the end of something or a late night text message could disturb a blissful sleep. Switch everything off and fully relax in a darkened room.

Is your mind switched off? - you can spend your time in bed thinking over events from the day, what ifs, I should have saids. Open up a verbal sick bucket either by yourself or with your partner, make a circle with your arms and 'throw up' all your thoughts into the 'bin' until your mind is empty. Blank your mind out so you can fully relax.

Can sleep create you a slimmer body?

For eight hours a day your burning fat, but this alone won't drop you weight - look at what you put into your mouth the other 16 hours, thats your stumbling block!

Okay Im sorry, I was wrong....

Short & Sweet apology....

For years I've drilled into clients 'eat breakfast it's the most important meal of the day'...well you know what its not!

The whole point of breakfast is to break the fast, everybody fasts throughout the night. While fasting, your growth hormone levels increase, higher growth hormone levels equal greater fat being burned.

Now by putting your breakfast back 4 hours and getting a solid 7/8 hour sleep, Growth hormone can double in levels meaning your body will torch twice as much fat!!

Amazing right?

What I want to get across though is that while I'm endorsing 'skipping breakfast' as such I'm not telling you to skip it every day. Two 16 hour fasts per week will do the suffice, combined with lots of water and one green tea throughout the fast.

This isn't an excuse to eat shit and think you can cancel it out with a fast, thats just pointless and like I've always said you can't out train a bad diet.

If our ancestors could see us now!

Back at the beginning of time, let me introduce you to the caveman. The caveman ate nothing but meat, fish, fruit & veg, they were lean, mean hunting machines surviving on nothing but gut instinct.

The concept of fast food would have blown a caveman's mind! I recently watched a documentary called I,Caveman which took 10 people back to a time where men were men...and so were the women for 10 days.

They hunted for 8 days while only living on scraps of Fish, Rats and Plants. When they finally captured an Elk they ate like kings for days.

Now let's fast forward to 2012....

Imagine waiting eight days for food!?

With all the convenience food around nowadays you don't have to but with this much convenience we have become lazy!

People want things fast, they haven't got time to cook REAL food because it takes to long! WTF...your given 24 hrs a day

People are easily opt to get takeaways, microwave meals, just add water meals.

Yeah we have evolved from the caveman times but I think we should take a lot from where we come from and learn a little something.

Eat fresh, Appreciate food & take a little time to look after yourself.
